Over the past several months as I have put more time into writing I have had the opportunity to connect with other local bloggers writing on a variety of topics from parenting to food. It is sometimes a challenge to find people writing on topics of interest to you so I thought I’d share a list of bloggers from the Ottawa area. The descriptions all come directly from each the blogs.
I am pretty sure I have missed some so if there are any you know of who are missing let me know in the comments and I’ll add them. I’ve generally categorized them although many of us write on topics outside of these categories as well.
Authors and Librarians
One husband, two kids, one ex-cat, way too many books, several fairly interesting neuroses….
Bjütie is my way of starting a discussion about those things that inspire. I do love the frivolity of fashion and makeup, but this is not a product review or shopping site (shopping will NOT save the world!). I hope to share my passion for books, the arts, ideas, and amazing people here.
I’ve got a few goals with this blog. Tell our stories, make you laugh, chronicle our immigration, and write awesome stuff that will one day be available in your local book store – stuff like Margaret Atwood, Terry Pratchett, Felicia Day, Jane Austen, Lucy Maud Montgomery, and Kurt Vonnogat would write, except not at all like them really because my style is my style, and I don’t have half of their wit.
Business / Entrepreneurship / Human Resources
The World of Work: HR, Workplace Culture, Leadership, Social Media, & Technology
What can you get from my blog? Well, I want to convince others to experiment with projects and activities and not be scared off if the first try doesn’t work out. Posts will center on the ideas of life, DIY and food. I will try to include tutorials and recipes as often as possible so you can follow along so please share your inspired twists with me.
Emily Arbour is a lover of handmade goods, a solid DIY, her family and friends. When she’s not peddling wares at her sweet little made in North America focused shop Hello Yellow, you can find her running around like a maniac trying to plan a craft show table layout, dripping soy wax on the living room rug, or sitting crook-necked behind her laptop crafting the perfect Facebook post.
She loves to write.
She loves to create.
She loves her life.
Join me, as we DIY, renovate and decorate our home, all on a budget, with our sweet daughter in tow. There are project tutorials, room makeovers, craft ideas, shopping/gift guides, and posts about this crazy thing called parenthood.
My blog is a lot of things to me. It’s a place for me to share my stories of fatherhood. It’s a place where I can talk about the products and stories that I like. It gives me a voice, to speak about the evolving role of fatherhood. It let’s me talk about other great Dads and allows me to share stories of Canadians who are doing amazing things! Most importantly, this blog allows me to flex the creative muscles in my brain while at the same time writing about the things I love. It has challenged me to look at life in a way that I had never dreamed and has made me a better father & person. I love interacting with all my readers and social media followers and have learned so much from all of you!
My name is Chris and I am a Canadian father of three girls. This is my space to unload all the stuff that floats around in the space between my ears. I live in a house of five females – one of which is a cat.
I write in the hopes that someone will listen to what I have to say since my kids apparently can’t hear anything that doesn’t involve ice cream.
I write about being a father, a son, a birth father, education, adoption, sexual health, politics, DIY projects and anything else I encounter in my journey as a parent, a man, a husband and a human.
Mike is an Ottawa born-and-raised husband to one and father to two girls who are changing the world as you read this. He’s mildly obsessed with making sure his daughters never learn to colour inside the lines and with making sure they know they’re both one-of-a-kind. He also writes bedtime stories with his daughters about everything from robots who play soccer to giants who play hopscotch.
He shares stories about the trials and tribulations of raising two girls after growing up in a house full of boys.
Mike writes at Puzzling Posts as well as being a featured blogger on the Yummy Mummy Club (Dad Outside the Lines)
An Ottawa Fashion and Style Blog – get your style fix!
Taking risks. In fashion. In work. In travel. With attitude.
I am Émilie. I am Canadian and currently live in Ottawa. I have lived in 4 cities as an adult. That’s in addition to another 6 cities growing up. I am finding my way through fashion, my career, travel and love like a true millennial.
My name is Rosie and I am a twenty-five year old plus size blogger from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I have worked in the customer service industry for the past couple of years. I’m always around clothing and I really wouldn’t have it any other way. My background is in photography, writing and fashion and I created this blog so I could seamlessly combine those three worlds.
You can find me at the thrift shop, in the kitchen, or out and about the city of Ottawa. I work at The Royal (a mental health centre) on the communications team. I am a mental health advocate with a love and enthusiasm for fashion. I especially love thrift and vintage shops for the thrill of finding one-of-a-kind pieces at a bargain price. I like to keep busy, meet new people, and challenge myself. Here at The Fashion Kidd you will find snippets of my life including my shopping trips, thoughts on fashion, food, mental health and social media.
Oodi Boodi – Life and a Hula Hoop
Everything Hula Hoop
If you’ve stumbled upon my blog I’m going to assume you’re looking for healthy recipes, green product reviews and helpful tips on organic living. I’m here to share my experience with these topics and give you my honest opinion. I am always trying new recipes or taking a stab at creating my own.
Come along with me on this journey, hopefully I can give you some new information on healthy living, a tasty weeknight dinner idea or at least give you a chuckle!
Family, food, home and travel – those are some of my favourite things. I love to share the sweet and savoury, be it in the kitchen or our travels. I juggle a family and a full-time job – we cook, travel and often paint a wall a new colour. Food is often related to my stories and I share it here often.
I have big dreams of cottages by the ocean, boutique bed and breakfasts, brick and mortar stores or moving back to Europe – if only I could make up my mind!
I hope to deliver inspiration to those who visit – to encourage, simplify and most of all have fun. All of this comes served with a side of beautiful photos.
I’m an Ottawa girl who loves food, getting on planes, and TV. And cake. And a few other things. Plant-based Recipes & Gluten-Free Recipes & a little travel.
Harvesting Dinner is about gathering everything essential to concoct simple everyday dishes to exquisite celebratory meals. It is about foraging through local eateries, butchers shops, fishmongers, bakers, farmers markets and other food artisans boutiques. It is about sitting at a table with family and friends, stretching the conversation over lovingly prepared foods. It is about relishing the hand crafted meal assembled by a humble chef. Harvesting Dinner is also about a journey of self discovery tangled in the pleasures of the table and the effrontery of a scale, my never-ending pursuit of a slimmer me, through cooking, tasting, sampling and experimenting. Ultimately, Harvesting Dinner is hoping to be a feast for those who like me, wake up thinking of food, read cookbooks from cover to cover and go to sleep with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads…
Growing up on a farm meant spending long hours helping my parents with the animals and many chores. We had a huge vegetable garden. The smell and taste of a freshly picked tomato cannot be compared to anything you buy at the market. We were eating by the seasons. Over the years I have become more confident in the kitchen, started my own cookbooks collection and wanted my children to have lasting memories of what we cooked and baked at home.
In 2006 La Cuisine d’Hélène was born and I dedicate this blog to them.Another passion that follows me since my childhood is photography. When I had my first real job I bought myself a Nikon with couple lenses. That was really expensive at the time. I now shoot with a Canon Rebel T4i with a macro lens for my food photos. I much prefer to shoot digital.
Simply Stacie is a lifestyle blog full of delicious recipes, easy crafts, household tips and other fun ideas to inspire readers to embrace an extraordinary life. I’m passionate about helping others and hope that my posts ignite that spark of creativity within others whether its preparing a home cooked meal for their family, saving money on their grocery budget or learning about a new product or service.
I started this blog about a year and a half ago. It started out as a space for me to share some of my favourite recipes as well as my adventures in the kitchen. Before I knew it my passion for cooking and baking grew into a passion for food photography and styling. So now this space is as much about my journey learning food photography and styling as it is about the food and the recipes. Except for the occasional food photography workshop, I am a self-taught food photographer and stylist who still has much room for improvement but who is eager to learn and experiment with food photography. I hope that you will follow me as I continue to pursue this passion of mine.
This is a food focused blog that will feature:
- Recipes – both healthy and decadent. Some of my own creation and some I have found pursuing the web then added my own twist.
- Food – pictures of food, articles about food, new food products to try.
- Restaurants – I will feature any dinning experiences that I feel passionate about, good and bad!
- Wine – loves me some wine and other libations to wet your whistle.
- Other – from time to time, I may include other random finds be it beauty, clothing, travel, life hacks. Really anything I feel would be useful but will keep it mainly food focused because food is awesome!
General / Babble
Remember how great it seemed when the characters on the television show Friends would just randomly meet up at the Corner Perk coffee shop? Well, that’s how I like to think of my blog — your virtual corner coffee shop, where you can drop in any time and catch up with friends.
At Cathy Out Loud you will find a mix of opinions, knowledge sharing, blurbs about life, parenting, and great products. Although the blog is less than a year old, Cathy and the blog are growing both in experience and audience by leaps and bounds. By Nature Cathy is a sharer; and whether sharing about people, products or information, she always does this with a sense of humour.
My favourite topics are life in Canada, immigration news, photography and travel.
The blog is divided into 9 categories:
- Canadian Life: Life in Canada as an immigrant,
- Immigration: The immigration and the citizenship processes, tips and advice for newcomers.
- Trends: Politics, news and events in Canada or around the world.
- Snapshots: Pictures of Canada and travel phởtography
- On The Road: This sections is subdivided into several distinct trips

Casually blogging about amusing moments in Ottawa with friends, family and the odd stranger. Also I like beer, coffee, wine, long walks on the beach and laughing at inappropriate stuff.
Earth to Reception
Earth To Reception is a Lifestyle-Career blog for Office Administrators and career-driven men and women alike. Jenny writes about her experiences as an Administrator, as well as tips and advice she’s picked up along the way.
Come for the DIYs, the How-Tos, the Fashion, and the Beauty.
Stick around for the quirky humour.
I don’t have all the answers, but I love looking for them. Feminist, gardener, hiker, traveler, blogger, entrepreneur, mother, lover of food, wine + craft beer.
She’s just a girl babbling her way through life at It’s All About Me. Like her favourite wine she is refreshing, zippy, and a little edgy.
What started out as an outlet when her bestie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, writing grew into a passion for MrsARob. She loves connecting with people and igniting emotion.
MrsARob has been babbling before she was a missus. Every day after school she would join her grandmother for tea where they would sip from their favourite cups, pinkies up, and jibber jabber. Her love for tea and everything social never waned.
She’s as happy exploring the True North strong and free as she is globetrotting. It doesn’t matter whether the adventure is a staycation or relaxing at an exotic all-inclusive, MrsARob always travels on a dime.
Anything kitcheny is her nemesis but unleash her where she can swipe a credit card and BAM! Watch in awe as the shopaholic is unleashed and bargains are sought. Stilettos or cowboy boots, she rocks them both.
Trying to juggle a career, an angelic she-devil furbabe, volunteer work and her social calendar, she fits in a cup of babble every now and then.
Oh, and if you haven’t figured it out, it’s all about her.
I am a wife and mother, writer and reader. I care passionately about women’s issues, mental health, weight issues and fitness.
This blog is about my life. It is my space where I write about the things that I spend time thinking about. I try to share my experiences so maybe someone else can learn from them, and I can learn from others.
I tend to jump from topic to topic, blogging about parenting, politics, books I’m reading, news I’ve heard about, things happening in my hometown of Ottawa, Ontario, anything that inspires me to think out loud.
Hey! My name is Bernie, I’m a young creative from Ottawa, Canada. Welcome to my little spot on the internet where I write about the things I believe in and what I am passionate about.
Here, we celebrate, honour and highlight the L word, in all its shapes and forms.
By people and for people.
I love geeking out about my search for God, organizing, pretty things, and a whole array of other hapless thoughts of mine. I’m all about being utile dulci (useful and agreeable). Why the Latin? Because I studied Horace in university for far too long.
Who is Reese Speaks, you ask? Well, I’m a woman who likes to share what’s on her mind about things that I like doing, sharing my experiences and hobbies, capture what happen on the reality shows I like watching, or give my opinion on news stories I’ve watched.
Blogging is one of my passions, and I try to do it whenever I can. Motherhood is my top priority, but it is not the only thing that defines who I am. Since I was a child, I have always enjoyed writing, so Reese Speaks gives me the opportunity to write about anything I want without restriction.
I’m a married mother of 3. I’m Canadian. I’m a Whovian, a sci-fi nerd, a ukulele player, knitter, cartoon/animé lover and a tv/pop culture-holic, I keep a blog that inflates my already swollen ego. I’m not all that interesting but I have high self-esteem which makes up for it.
I fell in love with a quote from George Bernard Shaw. Shaw stated that “Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” If life is truly about creating yourself then why not start now? Maybe blogging is part of who I could be. Since I’m no longer concerned with trying to figure out who I am I’m able to put all my effort into creating the person I want to be. As of right now, that person wants to start a blog so here I am!
90% of the time you can find me in Lululemon leggings drinking tea and that other 10 % well… that’s when I’m feeling fancy. I rock the messy bun and braids most of the time and you’ll be shocked to ever see me with my hair down (mostly because it quickly turns into a lions mane). But enough about me, I want to know all about you guys. Please send me an email or leave a comment and let me know a little bit about yourself!
This blog is here to make your life easier. Advice, life lessons, discussion topics, entertainment ideas… it’s all here! 🙂 I also have some personal stuff thrown in there for your added enjoyment, because who doesn’t wanna know all about me?!
My Blog is an expression of who I am and what I love, I hope as you follow along you start realizing fashion is what you feel not what everyone else says. You wear what you love not what you are told and you find inspiration everywhere.
Kick back and take a journey with me, travel a little, learn about wine, beer and many a fav dish and just maybe learn a craft or two.
Crayonized is a reflection of the fun and playful styles and thoughts of Patricia presented through the visual creativity of Jason. A lifestyle blog with a simple motto: Make Stuff – Do Stuff – Love Stuff
I’m in my twenties and living in the nation’s capital, Ottawa. I spend my weekly 9-5 working in a corporate law firm. It’s kind of like Suits, but not as cool. I live with my awesome husband, Mark and our miniature schnauzer Winston. They’re my two favourite boys.
Together with my hubby, we’re working on renovating our 1920’s home in Ottawa, ON to create beautiful spaces to raise our 5 year old, 2 year old and baby girl and be house proud. He’s got the tools and I’m the designer. Small or big, all spaces deserve to be beautiful and functional for real life and with real life budgets.
Ann is a widow and single mom. She is learning how to live chapter 2 of her life and is sharing her journey on this blog. Ann also shares “kickass” things that she discovers along the way.
She knows a lot of other women that are going through a similar stage in their lives, whether through loss, divorce or another life event. Ann thinks it is important to share my journey and hopefully help someone else along the way. Together, we can embrace a new way of life and find the happiness we deserve. We can discover what KickAss living means to us and follow our new paths.
I’m from Canada, love pie, shoes and watching YouTube videos. Recently engaged to but no wedding plans under way yet.
I started Life with A.Co in January of 2009 when blogs were just starting to pop up. It looked like fun, and I always searched for a way to share fashion in a more real-life way.
A.Co is my nickname, shortened from my full name, Amanda Conquer, and how all my friends refer to me.
I love using this space to share outfits, travel experiences, fitness and everyday life. I’m a regular girl writing on the Internet. Let’s be friends
I blog about my life as a mom, but Loulou’s Views is so much more than that. I’m a lifestyle blogger, a shopping blogger, a beauty blogger, and a travel blogger. I write about current events, the news that affects me as a mom, and I write about the things I love—from the best beauty products to the best places to travel to, and where to stay when you’re on vacation, with kids, and without. I’ve travelled a lot, and am happy to report that my boys share my passion for travelling.
Miss Baker Shops

Writer living in Canada’s capital; communications consultant by profession, blogger by pure passion. I am wife to a man I met 15 years ago at a little known place called Dairy Queen. I am mama-bear to a sweet little boy we call petit monsieur. I am born in April and prefer to wear pearls over diamonds. I am a proud girly girl and spend the winter months daydreaming of dresses and sandals and playing in the sand with my son. My favourite hobby is eating.
This blog is all about my journey to create a positive impact in this world.
Let’s face it the world isn’t perfect. Lots of people need help but people either don’t know where to start, don’t know of the issues the world is facing, feel like there’s nothing an ordinary person like them can do or feel like they don’t have the time.
I believe we all can do something to create a positive change we just need to start somewhere and if everyone did something to help the world even if it’s small the impact would be outstanding!
So here I am. One person hoping to create a positive impact and help others. This blog will follow my journey and hopefully inspire you dear readers to also start doing some good. So that together we can create a powered crowd that contributes to a better world!
I write fun or educational blog posts here of my bucket list adventures, how I live with MS, meal planning ideas, the occasional race recap, how I use essential oils and share new episodes of my podcast (The Alpha Female Podcast).
My name is Dominique and I’m an Ottawa-based lifestyle blogger. A public servant by day, my blog serves as a creative outlet highlighting my deep interest in fashion and beauty with a focus on humour.
Style Domination is simply a play on my name. My blog highlights how I “Dom-ify” my clothing, so really, it’s more of a focus on “Style Domification” of current trends and classic pieces alike. I don’t pretend to dominate anything!
Living well everyday is our passion. The Best of this Life engages readers with meaningful articles, where they can walk away with tools to apply to their own lives. Whether by way of a new recipe, product discovery, DIY, or party ideas.

It’s a good day when I’ve tried a new recipe or read a good chunk of a great book or changed something in our home to give it a fresh feel. And an even better day when I’ve shared that with you. Let’s inspire and support each other!
What makes Twenty York Street stand out is Marilou’s genuine voice. From sharing events in the city, to her thoughts on family and life, supporting local businesses, her personal stylings and more. Walk the Talk
Amanda Simplice-Palencia launched her blog in February 2017 after years of wanting to create something where I could inspire others.
She likes to refer to her blog as her secret (public) garden of freedom; a creative space where she can express herself, talk about the things she loves, the things she dislike and share her simple living tips & tricks. But most importantly, a space where she can inspire people to walk the talk and live their best lives!
I am a woman, I love to write, and I love other women. Well not that way my little frisky- I love sharing stories cause lets face it, we lead much more interesting lives than men. Whether that’s a good thing or not I’m not sure but damn when we come together, we are a force to be reckoned with.
So grab your yoga mats, lets curl up and talk about our worst dates, an old mix tape or why organic lotions and potions are the way to roll!
My name is Vie, and my partner Dave and I share our home with two dogs, two cats, three children, and a full-size replica of the Eleventh Doctor’s TARDIS. I get my daily buzz from Timmies’ Steeped Tea with two creamers and a Splenda. I prefer to drink from Royal Doulton cups that are bigger on the inside.
Me chamo Nicole. Nasci em Brasília, mas moro no Canada. Acredito que cada lugar nos marca de alguma maneira. Criei esse blog para compartilhar as coisas que amo com vocês.
Motherhood for today’s Mom. Fun stories, product reviews, giveaways and more!
This blog is a little bit of everything. It’s about parenting, crafts, living in Ottawa (Canada’s gorgeous capital!), cooking with kids, health, family travel, stories, charity and more.
There’s a lot of recipes. These have been tried and tested in my kitchen while kids played around me. Almost all of them can be done during witching hour, planned ahead and during the week at the last minute. That’s how I cook, just like many of you.
Hi! I’m Louise. I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I’m married with two daughters: a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old. I have a Journalism degree and a Political Science degree. I work full-time for the Federal Government. I like to write, so: blog hobby.
Random Fun Parenting Fact: It took me five days to do this page because I wrote it under the same circumstances as my bloggy birth story. Namely, amidst the constant interruptions (I mean through the multi-tasking with love) of two kids, Caillou and husband in the background.
Baby!! Now What?
Your body has just done one of the most remarkable things it will ever do: grow another human being.
Your delivery may have been complicated or easy. You may have had a cesarean birth (C-section) or vaginal delivery. You may have labored for a few hours or a few days. No matter what your delivery looked like, your body has been through a trauma just the same. It is going to need time to recover.
Baby!! Now What? focuses on the mom — her physical and emotional recovery, her well-being and more!
Canadian Blog House is my virtual house and I invite you, my friends, to grab your favourite beverage and stop by each day to read my latest blog, enter my latest giveaway … and be sure to leave a comment. You’ll find me here engaging in the community, striving to bring you the best of what I find on the internet, and bringing you many exciting opportunities to win prizes.
I am a lifelong (award-winning!) cartoonist and mother of two delightful boys, aged 4 and 2. I like to view today’s adventures in parenting as material for tomorrow’s cartoon. Looking at family life through “cartoon-coloured glasses” helps me keep the all-important sense of humour required for raising kids… even for the events that don’t seem so funny at the time.
Communications professional with a serious chocolate fixation. I write about motherhood, pop culture and the miscellany of life.
I am a work-at-home-mom to two beautiful, energetic little children and a wife to one great husband! All together we live just outside of Canada’s capital, in the Ottawa Valley. Currently, I work from home doing social media and business support at Next Dev Media and enjoy being able to work from the comfort of my home while still be available for my kidlets!
This blog is a place for me to work on my writing and figure out my life. On any given day I might write about parenting, Dance, Show, getting older, living in suburbia, or my white-knuckled terror of camping.
I’m the planning mastermind behind Blog Out Loud, an annual one-evening event for Ottawa-area bloggers, featuring live readings and photo displays.
documents the daily life and international travels of The Zoo; Ed, Sarah, The Kids, two rescue dogs and stories of an 18 year old cat (RIP).
We spend four months of the year in Mexico and the rest of the time in Ontario, Canada. We speak English, Spanish and French and lovethe words Acceptance, Compassion and Empathy.
Our focus is supporting Canadians and putting a humourous slant in all our writings including Product Reviews.
I love being an Ottawa mom. Ottawa is an amazing city with so many exciting and fun things to do with a baby and kids. The only problem is no one seems to know what is going on here or what to do.
So that’s why I’ve started this Ottawa Mommy blog.
When I found out I was pregnant my biggest worry was getting bored sitting at home with a baby. So I set out looking for all the cool things I could do. The problem was there really isn’t a simple resource to tell you what is going on where and at what time. There are so many resources in Ottawa when you have young children the only problem is they aren’t working together to get families to their programs. They all seem to spend time getting information out to their existing clients but are neglecting to get the information out to prospective ones. I spent many hours and came across many missed opportunities, amazing playgroups and great free outings to do. So I’m going to do my best to create a resource to help parents find great places to bring your kids.
Over-caffeinated, underpaid, terribly popular woman and mother to three great kids (18, 12 and 8). I’m a writer, editor, activist, advocate, and have great hair. Also a proud mom to a transgender kid.
Walking, cycling and talking about urban issues in Ottawa, Ontario.
Mom Break is an online community for moms.
Being a mom is hard, so our goal is to normalize the crazy that’s associated with being a mom….and give moms a break.
Mom Break is not only about encouraging moms to give themselves a physical break, but also a mental break. As long as your kid(s) are healthy, happy, and are mostly clean…you’re doing a really good job
Focusing on family-friendly products and reviews, I also post about crafts, recipes and whatever is happening in my life. I have been a brand ambassador for LEGO DUPLO through Mom Central and have worked with a wide variety of brands and businesses small and large. My ‘baby’ days may be behind me but the adventure has just begun!
The Ottawa Mommy Club was created by moms for moms in May 2011. We offer an informative website about parenting, resources, family related issues, attractions, reviews, and much more! Our readers also have the opportunity to participate in awesome giveaways. A one stop website for Moms in Ottawa! We have over 30 bloggers that share their insightful experiences, knowledge, lives and stories.
Our goal is to bring out important information to moms that will be relevant to Ottawa and help enhance the lives of families residing in the Capital region. The Ottawa Mommy Club is able to facilitate the exchange of information and become a trusted family website.
My name is Emilee and I am the “owlfamilymama” over here. I have a crazy, busy and fun filled house with a husband and four littles ones all 5 and under.
I came up with the idea of starting a website for our family after I noticed that people would often ask me lots of questions about our family life. I often find myself discussing cloth diapers, homeschooling, gardening tips, essential oils, recipes and the list goes on. Having these conversations and following other people’s blogs made me realize that I have lots to talk about. My goal with this website is to share fun tips, information and stories from our daily lives.
Mother, reader, wine lover, hockey fan (GO SENS), tweeter, picture masher, Supernatural, Dominion, Sherlock, & The Walking Dead fangirl. Not really an anime character.
I’m DaniGirl, typing madly in Manotick, Canada. That’s just a wee bit south of Ottawa, the nation’s capital. I’ve been blogging about raising a family in Ottawa since 2005. I’m inspired by my three (not so) little boys named Lucas, Simon and Tristan, and my Beloved, who after all these years is still just a little bit mystified by my compulsion to share our lives with the interwebs.
from Raising Fairies and Knights, a mom of two trying to stay sane while running a household, working part-time from home and looking after her baby, toddler and husband.
My name is Savannah. I started blogging in 2010, when I was getting ready to start homeschooling my oldest child. I loved seeing the support shared in the blogging community so I decided to jump in!
I hope that by sharing my journey as a Christian homeschooling stay-at-home mom, I can be of some help or encouragement to you.
On my blog, you will also find recipes, devotionals, tutorials, frugal living tips, and more. I will also share tips that I learned as I began earning a modest income with my blog.
I often share product reviews and giveaways on my blog, so make sure you keep checking in.

Shannon’s View from Here
Shannon writes on a variety of topics including travel, food, recipes, crafts and parenting as well as doing reviews and giveaways.
I have been known to share some pretty decent recipes, answer to the name “Patty Cakes” in some circles, and can Pin a craft like its my job!
I work full time, am a wife and proud momma, sister, daughter and daughter-in-law, chef/maid/chauffeur/personal assistant and, somewhere in between it all, a fair weather runner.
This is a reality for most so, I know I’m not tackling anything new here. I do however want to share a sarcastic, and slightly embellished, recounting of motherhood and my trial and error tips for managing a household!
A day in the life of a Canadian stay-at-home mom; offering a glimpse into the insanity of motherhood, product reviews and giveaways, and the odd recipe.
I am a wife, a mother, a friend, a daughter. I am a scientist and a blogger, a runner and a reader. I am a lot of things but really, I’m just a girl in the world. I’m probably a lot like you. I’m in my early thirties, married with two toddlers and a cat. This blog is my outlet. I write about the things I like, the things I do and the places I go. I write about what I want to be when I grow up and my observations on life. J is my husband, Little J is my boy and Little K is my girl. Come play with me.

Faisons-ici, formally @goodthingsottawa: showcasing Canada’s capital city artists, makers, dreamers and doers.
This website is not strictly about heritage preservation, but rather what goes down the drain when those older buildings are demolished and streets are denatured.
Surely, progress has been made since a couple of years, but showing Ottawa as it was back then, when its growth was more or less done organically and less “imposed”, is key to grasp the errors that were committed in the past and prevent them from happening again.
With the Gréber Plan, Ottawa has been sanitized and turned into a “boring city”. Let’s hope for a brighter future for Ottawa and that the city will gain back the grit it had lost and once had.
OttawaStart is an independent website that mixes community news and events with a directory of great local web sites — kind of like a big community newspaper.
We offer a free Community News service for local groups to post their news and events. And we’re always highlighting cool, useful and informative local web sites on our blog and our Twitter feed.
The Fishbowl is not an ordinary mom blog, and Andrea’s not your typical Ottawa momblogger. (She also prefers the term “parenting blogger” or just “Ottawa blogger” instead of “mommyblogger” thankyouverymuch!) She’s been keeping a blog since 1999 and is a rare veteran of the Canadian blogging scene.
Looking for something fun and interesting to do your with kids in Ottawa? Or, just looking for something, anything to do to kill time between lunch and dinner? We are here to help. We are a group of Ottawa parents that decided to share some of the activities, attractions, events, tips and tricks we love to do with our kids in this city.
I am a mother of three adult children, two daughters in their early thirties and a son in his mid twenties. I have been married to the father of these children for 38 years. Our joint project has been building a family together and it is through this blog that I hope to discuss and explore my adventures in parenting adult children, as well as provide a forum for all of us who are trying to parent effectively our adult children.

Ania is a disabled, queer, wibbly-wobbly gendery-wendery, social justice activist who is pro-choice, pro-sex work, and manages to say all that in one breath. She writes about a variety of issues including atheism, sex and sexology, psychology, social justice, and her own struggles with body and health issues.
Yellow Manteau is the online home of bilingual Ottawa-based social justice activist Julie S. Lalonde. Here you’ll find her thoughts about where the world is headed, updates on her work and ways to get in touch.
Julie’s passion is in bridging the gap between theory and practice in order to make activism relevant and accessible. She believes that social justice movements must make room for humour, self-reflection and all kinds of dance parties.
I’m in a never-ending chase after awe. That moment when you’re so stricken by wonder and extravagance, that moment of overwhelming emotion that either leaves you speechless or makes you want to scream. We’re not meant to live just to work and pay bills. This life and this world is so full of wonder and beauty, and it’s our job to go out and find it. Whatever that might be. If french fries and milkshakes float your boat, hey, go after it! If it’s spending QT time with the kids and the fam, DO IT! But if you want to chase those awe-inspiring moments through travel, follow me around the world!
Aiming For Awe is the vehicle that will help me share my stories, adventures, experiences and advice with you to either help inspire you to go travel or to help give you information on places you’re already planning on visiting.
There’s a saying that goes “Of all the books in the world, the best stories are found between the pages of a passport”. Go create your stories!
I’ve traded a desk job and financial security for the freedom of freelance writing in an effort to see as much of the world as possible. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, and I’ll be the first to admit it isn’t easy. But I wouldn’t trade it. Travel has made me a stronger, more independent, and confident woman. My adventures have given me some of the best experiences of my life; I’ve done and seen amazing things, met tons of incredible people, and I have some pretty awesome stories to share.
I’m like an excited kid and the world is my candy store. My goal with this blog is to make it yours too. Perhaps you dream of climbing ancient temples under the sun in Asia, or of exploring historic shipwrecks lost to the sea. Or maybe you prefer the fairytale castles of Germany, or the bright lights of NYC. From solo budget (mis)adventures to luxurious getaways, I hope my escapades inspire you set off on your own adventures, wherever they may take you.
We only get one life. Let’s make the most of it!

Turnipseed was a childhood nickname of Vanessa’s and today seems suitable for a blog that focuses on great value. Tiny seeds, tiny price – but huge, substantial results! That analogy works for us! We also love the idea of sowing the seeds of inspiration, scattering stories around the world, waiting for something great to take root.
