Yesterday was my 18th birthday – 18 months that is. Today I spent a lot of time with the big guy. He took me shopping and he let me play in all the stores. I used to ride around in a stroller all the time. Now I try to avoid getting in that thing. Walking and running is way more fun. Sometimes I fall and if someone sees me I make sure to cry a bit so that I don’t have to get up by myself.
Today I got to run around in the wino store and look at all the bottles. They were interesting, but the really neat thing is that there were all these tags sticking out from the shelves and they were fun to play with. Then we went to the food store and we found all the good stuff. I got to pick some bananas, and then daddy tried to hide the grapes and strawberries from me in the cart. I couldn’t reach the strawberries. I was able to get the grapes. The bag was closed up and I couldn’t get any of the grapes out no matter how hard I tried.
When we got home I finally got to eat some of those grapes. Then I sat on Daddy’s lap and played with his ears and found his eyes. Did you know they look different when I take off his glasses? I like to take off his glasses and put them back on. Sometimes I put them on top of his head. Sometimes he has to clean them off.
Daddy has a scratchy face that makes me laugh when he rubs his face on my bare feet.
Sometimes I think Daddy is a little crazy. We dance together in the kitchen when fun songs are on the radio. He spins me around to make me laugh. He lets me climb on him and beep his nose. Sometimes he carries me on his shoulders which makes me really tall and it makes it easier for me to reach his ears.
I wonder what we’ll do tomorrow.
